North London Collegiate School (Singapore) recently hosted its first International Model United Nations (MUN) Conference, bringing together student delegates from across its global network, including campuses in London, Jeju, Kobe, and Dubai.
Held over three days, the conference was centred on the theme “Bridges Across Borders”, with students engaging in structured debate on a range of global issues. Topics included sustainability, human rights, and historical case studies such as the Berlin Airlift, encouraging participants to analyse complex international challenges through a diplomatic lens.
The event provided a platform for students to develop key competencies in public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking, while simulating real-world international relations processes. Delegates collaborated across committees, representing different countries and perspectives in formal debate settings designed to mirror United Nations procedures.
Beyond the conference sessions, visiting students also experienced Singapore through curated activities, contributing to a broader cultural exchange across the NLCS network.
This inaugural conference reflects NLCS Singapore’s emphasis on global engagement and student-led leadership opportunities, with plans for continued development of international academic collaborations across its school network.
