Leysin American School, commonly known as LAS, is an international boarding school located in the alpine village of Leysin in western Switzerland. Its residential campus welcomes approximately 300 students representing more than 50 nationalities, creating a close-knit international community within the Swiss Alps.

The academic programme at LAS serves students from Grades 7 to 12. In the Diploma Years, students may pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma or the LAS High School Diploma, with Advanced Placement courses available for students seeking additional academic challenge.

 

 

English Language Acquisition programmes support students who are developing their academic English proficiency. Beyond the classroom, LAS students participate in sports, visual and performing arts, leadership activities, cultural travel and outdoor experiences.

Skiing and snowboarding form part of the winter programme at Leysin American School, while university advisors support students as they explore and apply to universities in the United States, Europe and other international destinations.

Head of School

Marc-F. Ott grew up in Switzerland and the Middle East. He earned a Master’s degree in teaching Business, Economics, Accounting and Swiss Law from the University of St. Gallen, before completing a Doctorate in Education in Educational Administration at Columbia University in New York City. He returned to Switzerland in 2005 to lead the Leysin American School Admissions Department and became Head of School in 2009. Marc-F. Ott has written and published on quality management and school accreditation, taught in the Endicott College Master’s Degree programme.
