International Baccalaureate (IB)
The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a globally recognised education framework designed to develop academic depth, critical thinking and international mindedness. Founded in 1968, the IB is administered by the International Baccalaureate Organization and is offered in international schools worldwide.
The IB offers four programmes:
Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Middle Years Programme (MYP)
Diploma Programme (DP)
Career-related Programme (CP)
The IB Diploma Programme (DP), typically taken in the final two years of secondary school, is an academically rigorous qualification assessed through a combination of coursework and final examinations. It includes core components such as Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).
The IB is known for its inquiry-based approach, interdisciplinary learning and balanced subject structure across languages, sciences, mathematics, humanities and the arts. In South Korea, IB schools attract internationally mobile families and students seeking a globally portable qualification recognised by leading universities worldwide.
